Seasonal Maintenance Worker
OPENING DATE: June 1, 2020
CLOSING DATE: June 15, 2020
SALARY RANGE: $15.00 - $18.50 Per Hour DOE
DUTIES:
Maintaining grounds of District facilities and District sites. Wash, clean, and fuel District vehicles. Occasionally works in crew environments and settings.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduate or GED. Valid Washington State Driver’s License, and Steel Toe Boots. Candidate must be at least 18 years old.
Knowledge of:
- Building and grounds maintenance practices, principles, and techniques.
- Safety rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to area of assignment.
Skill in:
- Using hand and power tools and equipment applicable to work assignments.
- Following oral and written instructions.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Employees and the general public.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing with staff, co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
- Using various computer software including MS Office Suite and other software related to job duties.
Experience:
- Experience in cleaning and maintaining an office and grounds; experience with various hand and power tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties are primarily performed outdoors with extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time. Employee risks physical hazard from mechanical and electrical equipment, confined spaces, traffic, and exposure to noise, gases, fumes, human waste, and chemicals. Physical effort is required to perform very heavy manual labor. Regular lifting in excess of 50 pounds is required.
