Family and Community Partnership Specialist
Family & Community Partnership Specialist for Head Start. Full time. $12.59/hour. Work with parents in maintaining family strengths as well as identifying needs for a supportive environment for their children. Establish relationships with other community agencies that help support families. Associates Degree in Human Services or related field required with two years working in the human services field. Experience with Head Start a plus. Benefits after 90 days.
Responsibilities:
- Assist, as part of the central office staff, in planning and implementing the most effective child and family program for families in Westmoreland County.
- Develop and update the Community Resource Directory
- Arrange and facilitate all Policy council meetings
- Schedule parents for employee interviews.
- Establish a collaborative relationship with other community agencies to support the needs of families and children.
- Maintain up to date program policies and procedures for Family and Community Engagement Program Services and Program Governance.
- Assist in the community needs assessment.
- Work with Head Start Family and Community Partnership Coordinator to ensure the community partnership agreements are updated annually.
- Work within the community to establish new community partnership agreements.
- Educate staff on services on the available within the community.
- Coordinate the publication and distribution of the Early Head Start Parent Handbook.
- Work with parents to write and distribute monthly newsletter for Early Head Start and Head Start.
- Train and support parents of Early Head Start in their leadership duties for parent committees and Policy Council.
- Track and monitor family outcomes from the Life Skills Progression and family goals in order to assist in training and support families and home visitors so they can access services within the community to meet their needs.
- Attend PHSA conference with selected policy council members.
- Support and assist staff and parents in planning Parent Awareness activities that support and reflect the parent’s interests. Attend meetings as needed.
- Participate in family reviews and offer support to staff for social service needs as needed.
- Assist with completing applications and recruitment as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, in regard to accessing Protected Health Information, according to the Table of Access contained in the HIPAA Policy and Procedure Manual. Employee’s access is on a “need to know” basis.
- Any other related task as assigned.
