Computer Technician
Wayne County Commissioners are currently accepting applications for this full-time job opening.
Duties include:
1. On-site desktop support, including travel to downtown County offices to support desktops on-site (some remote desktop support may be acceptable, but regular on-site support will be expected).
2. Desktop support for anti-virus, including clean-up and maintenance using anti-malware, anti-spam, and antivirus tools on a regular basis.
3. Network printer support for multiple networks.
4. Technology disposal process, including transporting of hardware to and from sites.
5. Voice phone systems support, including on-site user training and voice mail programming assignments and hardware support of handsets.
Qualifications:
1. The employee must have the ability (and cognitive skills) to learn and work with details of the job, including the ability to remember and comprehend complex situations.
2. The employee must have the skills to document and to communicate well in all media.
3. The employee must have the knowledge and skills to demonstrate good work ethic.
4. The employee must be comfortable with interruption and changing tasks throughout the shift. This includes being willing to be on call for required assistance throughout the shift.
5. The employee must have the knowledge and understanding to demonstrate stability, reliability, honesty, courtesy, and integrity of communications and daily interactions with supervisor and peers.
6. The employee must have the knowledge and understanding to communicate the status of projects/assignments to IS Director.
7. The employee must have the knowledge and understanding to meet confidentiality standards.
