DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
The Village of Newark Illinois is accepting applications for the position of Director of Public Works.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the public works department, prioritizing and directing work projects, supervision of public works staff, maintaining supplies for maintenance projects and street repairs. As this is a hands-on position, a CDL with air brake endorsement is a must. The successful applicant, if not already holding a Class B water plant operators license, would be expected to begin training, and at the completion of training to take charge of water quality testing, and supervising the cleaning and maintaining equipment, filter beds, tanks, and other work areas, following US environmental protection agency regulations to ensure safety standards are met.
