Serve as the ENREC Farm Operations Manager at the Eastern Nebraska Research and Extension Center (ENREC) near Mead, Nebraska. Plan and manage agricultural production systems on 4,000 acre irrigated and dryland crop farms to optimize the efficiency and quality of agronomic operations. Facilitate and monitor research projects. Prepare and implement cropping plans and field operations, coordinate and manage land use. Coordinate interdisciplinary operations with ENREC departments. Responsible for policy and management of agricultural activities at ENREC and acquiring /maintaining/reporting accurate production data. Generate, validate and approve financial documents. Recommend and execute approved annual budget for the farm operation; plan the purchase and management of inputs and equipment for cropping operations. Prepare and execute marketing plans for the sale of commodities; responsible for all farm operating and revenue-generating activities. Maintain land infrastructure. Responsible for USDA Farm Program compliance and Crop Risk Management. Manage large CAFO Nutrient Management Plan, record keeping, and reporting as required by Nebraska DEE. Responsible for safety training and implementation for Farm Operations employees. Position requires EPA Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicator's license within 6 months; Nebraska Chemigation Applicator certification license within 1 year; NRD Nitrogen Management certification within 1 year; NDEE Livestock Waste Applicator certification within 1 year.
