Accountant
The College of Engineering is seeking an Accountant to work with both the Engineering Administration team in the Dean's office as well as the Engineering Technology Center (ETC) which provides IT support to the College. The successful candidate will assist the College's Business Officer in support of collegiate financial operations. This position will also be responsible for tracking ETC revenue and expenditures, executing financial forecasting for ETC leadership, maintaining the ETC’s compliance with University and granting agency regulations and policy, and assisting with procurement.
The ideal candidate for the accountant position will be a person who thrives in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities that are influenced by leading-edge research and academic pursuits.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, including ability to use formulas and construct pivot tables;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Possess basic knowledge of GAAP accounting standards;
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse teams.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Related experience in an accounting role;
- Experience gathering and organizing data from a variety of systems/sources to perform a task;
- Experience in a higher education environment;
- Experience building financial models;
- Familiarity with the University of Iowa’s Accounting Code Manual.
