Description:
An employee in this class is responsible for performing intermediate skilled work in the maintenance, repair and installation of refrigeration and air handling equipment in Town Facilities.
Primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining refrigeration, heat, and air handling equipment; maintaining records and files; preparing reports. Employee will perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and air handling equipment. Performs related tasks as required. The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, and repetitive motions.
Education and Experience:
Requires graduation from high school; considerable experience in refrigeration, plumbing, heating or related trade.
Requires possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
Requires air conditioning recovery and recycling certification. NC H1, H2 or H3 class 1 certifications, or the ability to obtain in 2 years.
