Research Associate
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Research Associate with the College of Computing and Informatics. This is a full-time, temporary staff position.
Essential Job Duties: The Research Associate will support the College of Computing and Informatics’ research team. The Research Associate will be responsible for:
- DNA/RNA extraction
- Polymerase chain reaction optimization
- Operation of sanger and next-generation sequencers
- Documentation and reporting of all experiments and results.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors of Science in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or affiliated field.
Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate will have skills in DNA/RNA extraction, optimization of polymerase chain reactions, and operation of Sanger, and next generation sequencers.
The successful candidate will be detail oriented and careful in documentation and reporting of all experiments, notes, and data in written and electronic form with backups.
Once results are achieved the candidate will be asked to summarize results in written and verbal form.
Additional Comments: The anticipated length of the temporary assignment is six months.
