Upstate Medical University is looking for a Registered Nurse to join their dynamic team of expert professionals.
The Nurse Research Scientist, will engage nursing in research by promoting, supporting and facilitating nursing participation in research activities to advance clinical practice. This individual will support nursing by using evidence-based practices to conduct clinical research, translation of research into practice and the dissemination of research results both internally and externally. The Nurse Research Scientist will provide leadership for research and evidence-based practice education to clinical staff, by conducting both formal & informal classes and information sessions. The Nurse Research Scientist will build a infrastructure that supports and engages nurses about evidence based practice and research to enable them to provide the best and safest practices for patients. This individual will supervise the Evidence Based Practice Program Manager.

PhD, DNP, DNS, or EdD required. BSN degree in Nursing required. NYS Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible required. A minimum of five years nursing experience in an acute care setting and two years of progressive supervisory or leadership experience required. Experience facilitating research activities with demonstrated knowledge of study design, and implementation. Experience with IRB process required. Outstanding oral and written communication skills a must, and the ability to develop high level presentations required. Must have the ability and skills to work independently and collaboratively with clinicians, faculty, students, and healthcare leaders. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment. Experience in conducting nursing research, program development, project management and scholarly publication strongly preferred. National certification in area of expertise strongly preferred.
