14 Positions. Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, located between Tahoe City CA and Truckee CA, has 14 temporary full time, seasonal positions available 11/16/2019 to 5/4/2020. The experienced line cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food while delivering exceptional service to our internal and external guests. The experienced line cook is also responsible for performing a full range of the most difficult cooking tasks in addition to plating complex menu items and preparing sauces & soups. The experienced line cook will be responsible for not only the sanitation of their own station, but the full kitchen as well. The experienced line cook may also assist with ordering, inventory management and kitchen sanitation audits and other tasks as their chef requires. Follows all grooming guidelines, is a role model for rest of staff. Reads, understands and follows recipes and station standards. Strong knife skills required including the ability to tourne, julienne, brunoise, dice, chop and mince. Must be able to understand and help to enforce all applicable sanitation and food safety guidelines set by state and government. Helps to inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safety and sanitary food handling practices. Able to execute the following skills to a high standard; sautee, grill, Broil, bake, poach, fry and braise. Must understand and abide by company procedures set forth by our Human Resources department.
This is being filed in support of an H-2B application. Must have High School diploma, + 12 months experience in same job. This job may also be performed at Alpine Meadows Ski Area, 2600 Alpine Meadows Rd, Olympic Valley, CA 96146. Wage $15. Overtime paid at 1.5 times at $22.50. Position is at least 35 hrs per week 8 am to 4 pm. Paid bi-weekly, rate calculated Saturday-Friday with only required deductions taken by law. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least 3/4ths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary lodging) to the place of employment will be provided or its cost to workers reimbursed if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the work period or if the worker is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates of $12.46 per day of travel with a max of $55 per day will be paid with receipts. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Housing is not provided by the employer.
