Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Veterans Service Coordinator.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the mission and values of Southwestern Illinois College, this administrative position is responsible for the development and maintenance of comprehensive processes related to Veterans Services. The position requires expertise in interpreting, integrating and applying knowledge to maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations. The coordinator must ensure that college/department policies and procedures are applied while providing student services. This position requires adaptability in working with diverse populations and flexibility in evaluating each student with considerable one-on-one interactions. All responsibilities require excellent interpersonal, communication and professional skills. This work requires the ability to exercise independent judgement. District wide travel is required. Work schedule includes some evening and weekend hours.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  2. A minimum of two years of responsible administrative work experience required; administrative work experience in education preferred.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to effectively navigate the internet and email is required.
  4. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
  5. Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds required.
  6. Experience with Veteran populations or military experience preferred

 

STARTING PAY AND HOURS

Grade 2 on the Administrative Salary Scale, ranging from $44,675 to $51,310 per year.

WORK LOCATION

Belleville Campus with district-wide responsibilities
