NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER MANAGER
ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Network Operation Center Manager.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, responsibilities include administration of SWIC’s enterprise data protection systems (e.g. backup and recovery), disaster recovery preparation/plans, and hardware inventories. Additional responsibilities include management of SWIC computer rooms, computer room infrastructure (electricity, air-conditioning, UPS, wiring, etc.), servers, switches, and all equipment contained in the computer rooms and wiring closets district-wide. Proactively monitors all network services and servers that are part of SWIC’s district-wide network. Interfaces with telecommunications and hardware vendors and their technical support staff. Sets up hardware, installs and upgrades server operating systems and associated application software. Replaces faulty hardware such as switches and hard drives. Maintains cleanliness and neatness of computer rooms and wiring closets. Works with staff from all areas within IT. Maintains NOC documentation which includes Continuity Plan, application documentation, licenses for all production software, hardware maintenance agreements, etc. Supports and services all PeopleSoft technical support calls. Proactively manages Web Services (PeopleSoft Self-Service and SWIC websites). Provides phone support to students and staff to assist or resolve issues involving SWIC Information Technology Services. Gathers monthly statistics for IT Portfolio and other IT statistics. Three NOC Managers will share a work schedule that has atypical hours and includes weekend and evening coverage.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate's degree in IT-related area is required; six years of experience may be substituted
2. Minimum three years of related experience is required that includes at least one year of experience in systems or applications programming
3. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification is required; Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Expert (MCSE) certification is desired.
4. PeopleSoft Application development experience is desired.
5. Network services experience is desired.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Grade 4 on the Administrative Salary Scale, ranging from $58,802 to $67,133
WORK LOCATION
Belleville Campus with duties district wide
