Manager of Student Accounts
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Manager of Student Accounts.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the mission and values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a highly responsible managerial position that supervises all activities associated with student and corporate billings, cashiering, accounts receivables and collections. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and managing current, past due and uncollectible accounts. This position requires technical knowledge, the ability to interpret statistical data and make inferences, interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills. The position is critical in the management of student accounts and provision of high quality customer service to students, parents, college departments and external entities.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. Three years of professional experience in accounting, financial services or other related field required. Community college and supervisory experience is preferred.
3. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, the Tax Payer Relief Act of 1997 and requirements of 1098-T forms, federal and state financial aid programs and FERPA regulations desirable.
4. Experience with integrated enterprise systems required. Experience with PeopleSoft a plus.
5. Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
6. Excellent planning, organizational, delegation, problem solving, verbal and written communications skills required.
7. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the college community and the public.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
$54,000 to $60,000
WORK LOCATION
Belleville Campus.
