ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Assistant Director of Human Resources/Benefits Specialist.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this position involves work of an administrative and technical nature requiring knowledge of human resource management practices, state and federal regulations, employee relations and benefits administration. This position serves as a liaison with benefits vendors and provides appropriate monitoring, facilitation, analysis, reporting, and support for insurance plans, including assistance with benefit enrollment activities. This position also serves as the 403(b) plan administrator and assists with SURS retirement counseling and other benefit administration. This position requires knowledge pertaining to human resource activities including HRIS delivery. Additionally, this position will help to oversee the faculty and staff recruitment process. In the absence of the Director, this position is responsible for Human Resource operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
2. Three years of progressively responsible work experience in a related field required.
3. Experience working with employee benefits required.
4. Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required.
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work positively and professionally with others required.
6. Experience working under the SURS preferred.
7. Experience working with a Human Resource Information System preferred.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Commensurate with education and experience.
