Job Description: The Logistics Project Manager (LPM) will be responsible for assisting in the PM in the management and oversight all aspects of a Department of Defense Logistics Support contract. Specific contract requirements include the following:
- Life Cycle Logistics
- New Acquisition Support
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Support
- Corrective Maintenance Logistics System (CMLS) Support
- Logistics Load Management Support
- Ordnance Management Support
- Supply Chain Management Support
- Resource Management Support
- Meetings, Conferences, and Management
Contract support locations will include: Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; San Diego, CA; and overseas locations.
The Logistics Project Manager responsibilities will include assisting the Program Manager, in managing all aspects of contract requirements, including: contract reporting, contract and task manning, customer interface and coordination, and specific tasking requirements. The Logistics Project Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development of all cost estimates, and for managing and coordinating supervisory personnel in support of all contract and tasking requirements, including financial performance, and deliverables.
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business, technical, or engineering field
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
Experience:
The Logistics Project Program Manager must have the following levels of work experience:
- 8 years of experience in conducting analyses, studies, or projects in the fields of marine supply and logistics
- 4 years of experience in one: fleet sustainment support, logistics systems/data management, or supply chain management
- 2 years of experience in managing projects with at least 10 personnel in one of these disciplines: fleet sustainment support, logistics systems/data management or supply chain management
- 2 years of logistics afloat experience for MSC, Navy, Coast Guard or a commercial ship operators.
- 5 years of experience with ship acquisition and fleet sustainment support services utilizing any of the following systems: Department of Defense databases/systems such as CLIP/CMLS, ShipCLIP, WinMASP, NTCSS, CDMD-OA, SCLSIS, MERLIN, Inter-Active Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS) or IHS Haystack.
- Must be eligible for the Government security clearance at the SECRET level.
