Established Title Insurance Agency Seeking Full-Time Underwriter

The Rundown:

A respected, long-standing business in Asheville would like to add an experienced (preferred) title insurance underwriter to our team. It is a fast-paced, busy-in-the-right-ways office where you will be counted for your efforts, skills, and contributions. If you want to matter, join this team! It is a small office with very few employees, and the nature of the work is mainly solitary; however, we back each other up in whatever ways possible and enjoy laughing together in short, “breather” moments in-between getting the work done—or along the way, sometimes. You will be working in legal matters, so accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail is a must. Commitment to processes and organization (without it being boring) would be of great benefit as well. The position is full-time and will consist of writing title insurance binders/policies, performing searches to obtain title policies, preparing insurance quotes, general clerical and administrative tasks and overall problem-solving on a number of title challenges.

Other Critical Qualifications Include (but are not Limited to):

• Accomplished Typist—You will be doing a lot of typing, so the faster and more on-point, the better.
• Solid writing and editing skills a plus.
• Underwriting experience would be golden.
• Experience in MS Office and Adobe PDFs is best (not on the graphics side of Adobe).
• The capability to navigate computers in the moderate range.
• Of high standards, nonetheless with the ability to correct one’s mistakes when indicated without offense.
• Industriousness.
• Customer service skills via e-mails (high amounts) and on the telephone.
• Not afraid of communication—Some of our productivity hinges upon it in small but crucial ways.
• The ability to multi-task effectively and maintain various deadlines which are not always consistent.
• A willingness to learn and adjust to the day’s modestly changing flow of priorities.

Preferred:

• Possessing a NC Title Insurance License.
• 2+ years in real estate.
• Proficiency in SoftPro software a plus.

Hours and Location: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1238 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
