Job Description
The Financial Information Services Agency (FISA) has a vacancy for a Windows Engineer. The Windows Engineer will need to have a strong technical understanding of corporate implementations of Microsoft technologies. The Windows support staff is servicing over 700 users, 350 Windows servers, and major City wide applications. The team also provides 24x7 LAN supports for such applications as MS Exchange, MS SharePoint, MS SQL, MS M365, SCCM, Citrix, Shavlik, EPO, VMware, and SAN Storage. With these numerous projects comes the responsibility of managing and monitoring the infrastructure that resides on them. Their knowledge will be leveraged to enhance and ensure the security posture of the Active Directory, Office365, and Azure. This involves working directly with the other teams and Microsoft. The individual will also:
- Review existing tools, applications, and processes to help strengthen and optimize current capabilities, as well as identify any gaps or technical solutions to further enhance the team's effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks and support automated workflows.
- Work on the design, implementation, and testing of business continuity solutions (disaster recovery/ high availability).
- Troubleshoot and solve advanced and complex technical problems as they arise.
- Work independently on assigned projects, as well as effectively and cooperatively with administrators, staff, users.
- Serve as a technical lead and security subject matter expert with respect to Active Directory, Windows Servers/Clients, Office365, Azure, and related technologies.
- Support the administration and maintenance of the Citrix XenApp environment as well as Windows LAN environments and users.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to internal team and clients including onsite/and or remote support in areas of expertise and as requested or assigned.
- Work on nights and weekends when work must be performed off-hours so as to minimize user disruption.
Minimum Qual Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure; or
- Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure;
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
Preferred Skills
- Expert level knowledge in the design, build, and administration of Citrix XenApp Suite including Citrix NetScaler Application Delivery Controller.
- In-Depth understanding of the implementation and administration processes to support the Office 365 stack and suite of products (Azure AD, 0365 Groups, Office.com, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive) etc.
- Expert level knowledge of RSA SecurelD and Microsoft Multifactor Authentication.
- Expert level knowledge of Windows of 2016/2019 server and AzureAD - Forest, Domain trust, AD, ADFS, DFS, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Group Policy, Distribution lists, Windows folder security, and IP filtering
- Expert level knowledge of Active Directory LDAP service, shell scripting, AD Site Topology- all under a multi- site multi domain Windows 2016/2019 server and AzureAD environment.
- Strong scripting/programming in 0365 PowerShell, automation, and optimization of manual processes
- Strong troubleshooting skills in a Windows 2016/2019 environment - Event log analysis, installation, and administration of Windows Server 2016/2019, including user setup, defining user roles, performance tuning, backup and restore, security monitoring, registry, and AD scripting.
- Additional Knowledge in NetBackup, SharePoint, and SolarWinds, is a plus.
- Strong infrastructure security knowledge of common 0/S and computing environments including Active Directory and network implementations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Demonstrate analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to resolve issues (using all available resources)
- The ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment of shifting priorities
- Strong initiative and the ability to excel with minimal supervision.
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
- Solid project management, written and verbal communication skills
- 15+ years of experience across various Microsoft technologies and security disciplines in a corporate environment
- Hands-on experience with 0365 applications (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams) with a proven track record of implementing and managing large, complex 0365 deployments including hybrid environments.
- Experience with Active Directory, Office 365 and Azure cloud security including engineering roles responsible for designing and deploying secure solutions
- Exchange Online/on-premise hybrid configuration and management, to include OME & S/MIME Encryption, DKIM, DMARC and SPF concepts
