Retail Meat and Seafood Cutter 2
This Skill Based position works all aspects of our full-service retail meat and seafood counters. Outstanding customer service, demonstrated through product knowledge, preparation, and dedication to quality is our goal.
Working Environment:
The Cutter 2 works in retail, service counter, and preparation areas. This can involve frequent and extended periods of time in chilled and freezer environments working with a variety of natural animal products. There is frequent use of potentially dangerous equipment and machinery used in the cutting and preparation of meat and seafood products. Direct and interactive communication with customers and team members on the retail service floor, and counter areas will be a daily occurrence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a journeyman or above cutting all varieties and cuts of fresh meats in a restaurant, grocery or locker/ meat market setting.
- Knowledge of seafood products and preparation
- Possess outstanding knife skills
- Experience in preparing specialty products (sausage, smoked, and meal ready)
- Demonstrated retail customer service experience and skills
- Familiarity with organic and natural foods
- Attention to detail and ability to work long hours
- Ability to lift and carry 50 – 75 pounds on a regular basis
- Experience on all machinery and equipment used in a full-service meat and seafood preparation facility
- Ability to read and speak English and perform simple math problems
- Enthusiasm for working in fast-paced creative environment
Requirements:
- This skill-based position requires a committed schedule which may include early morning, opening, closing, weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis.
The Meat and Seafood Cutter 2 is a full time, hourly position with a benefits package.
Minimum starting wage: $15.35 (higher based on experience and cutting test results.
