General Job Duties
- Troubleshoots and installs electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment and devices. Reads and interprets PLC languages, determines roots causes of repetitive equipment failures and develops preventative measures.
Specific Job Duties
- Performs general electrical construction: Installs conduit, electrical enclosures, electrical controllers, switches, etc.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electronic hydraulic, pneumatic controllers and devices, and HVAC.
- Analyzes equipment problems, determines root causes and recommends solutions.
- Performs general mechanical work including welding, pipe fitting, equipment installation and fabrication work.
- Balances rotating equipment.
- Measures and makes appropriate changes to paint booth and over air flow to maintain system balance.
- Maintains a high quality level of work; results of work should indicate good craftsmanship in an environment that produces schedule changes on short notice.
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.
- Accurately completes written documentation of activities as required (work orders, PO requests, etc.).
- Reports any abnormalities of tools, parts or equipment to the Supervisor.
- Loads and unloads equipment or materials related to maintenance and facilities projects.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Participates in department meetings.
- Submits cost reduction and Innovation ideas.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
- Initiate qualification process to achieve senior technician status in 24 months.
Skills/Experience Required
- Required: Two years maintenance troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing facility. One year continuous work experience.
- Must have good problem solving skills.
- Must work well with others. Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Must have good math skills.
- Must have forklift and manlift operator’s license.
Educational Requirements
- Required: Minimum A.S. technical degree.
- Preferred: Specialization in electronics, electrical power and controls, fluid power transfer, MIG welding, HVAC, crane operation and rigging training classes.
