179-181 Days/Year (Pro-Rated)
$12.85 - $17.05/hour (depending on experience)
JOB SUMMARY
To prepare and serve nutritious meals following specific guidelines for preparation, safety, sanitation, and a time schedule.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Act as the key contact person (or lead) in the kitchen working with FSA I’s.
- Execute existing and new information and policies and procedures from the Food Services Department.
- Prepare and serve food as specified on production sheets and menu.
- Ensure required portion control.
- Clean kitchen area complying with food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Maintain necessary production records.
- Operate POS computer.
- Set up products for ala carte and offer vs. service on serving lines and carts.
- Place monthly/weekly food and supply orders.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Keep a current inventory of food and supplies.
- Assist in training new employees and substitutes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
- Valid Food Handler’s Card required.
- Valid Driver’s License preferred.
- Valid First Aid Card preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience with quantity cooking and baking procedures preferred.
- Bloodborne Pathogens training required, but may be completed after hire.
OTHER JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Neat and clean in appearance.
- Physical capabilities to perform essential tasks.
- Willingness to work at any location assigned.
- Familiarity with basic first aid procedures.
- Familiarity with operation and maintenance of commercial food preparation equipment.
The person selected for this position must be able to: verify identity and employment authorization, complete a pre-employment record check and be approved by the State Department of Education after having a Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification made. The selected candidate will pay $10-$20 for a set of fingerprints and $59.00 for the verification check - verification check fees can be deducted from initial paycheck if hired.
