Johnson County seeks an Inclusion and Equity Specialist to carry out the County priority of diversity, inclusion and equity and promote an inclusive culture for staff and customers. Act as a liaison to various committees and organizations. Assist in the development of outreach and communications efforts to diverse populations in the county.

Bachelor’s degree in international studies, social work, public affairs, or a related field AND two (2) years of experience working in the area of diversity, inclusion, equity, cultural competency OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge of:

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices
  • Best practices in the areas of multicultural communication and training
  • Multicultural proficiency
  • Consensus building, group facilitation, and collaborative decision making
  • Public speaking
  • Diverse employee recruitment and retention
  • Federal and state laws and local regulations as they pertain to discrimination and equal opportunity
  • English language to include grammar, spelling, sentence structure, vocabulary, and proofreading skills

Compensation: $25.40-29.88 an hour plus excellent benefits.
