Jason G. Herndon Farms, Lyons, GA now hiring 90 temporary Farm Workers to work in Toombs County, GA from 8/1/2019 to 10/14/2019. Hourly wage of $11.13 or piece rates ranging from $0.10/1.35 bushel box to load greens to $1.75/24 bushel box to cut, bundle and box organic greens, whichever is higher. Perform manual labor to transplant, cultivate, harvest, wash and pack leafy green vegetables by hand or machine. Most job duties require workers to work in extremely hot and/or wet weather. Work requires repetitive walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying and loading up to 60 lbs. Drug testing is conducted post-hire at the employer's expense and is not part of the interview process. Negative results are required before starting work. One month of verifiable farm work experience harvesting vegetables is required. Three quarters of an average of 40 hrs./wk guaranteed. Optional cash advances may be available to workers during the employment period at the discretion of the employer. Reimbursement of approved cash advances will be payroll deducted when expressly authorized by the worker in writing. Raises may be offered to any seasonal worker, at the employer's discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure with the company.
