Jail Administrator
The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Jail Administrator of the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
General Description
The Jackson County Jail Administrator is responsible for the operations of the Jackson County Corrections Facility (JCCF). The Administrator shall assign and direct subordinates, ensuring that all policy, rules, regulations, procedures and directives are enforced and implemented. The Administrator is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the staff, facility and well-being of prisoners. This employee reports directly to the County Administrator and makes recommendations regarding hiring and promotions in
accordance with Board policies. The Administrator is subject to the usual hazards of jail management and corrections work.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school supplemented by specialized courses in jail management, BS in Criminal Justice preferred, and 6 to 9 years of progressively responsible experience as a
correctional supervisor; individual with state certification as a correctional officer required; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
