The Director of Dubuque translates the company vision, mission, and strategies into functional activities within the assigned work areas. Executes and improves departmental processes while looking at the broad view of company needs. Assigns developmental plans for each functional area of responsibility. Contributes to budgeting and strategic planning for company. Works with functional unit managers to ensure the completion of well-defined departmental tasks; provides effective communication to department employees; works with the management team to develop departmental and individual goals consistent with company strategic plans, policies and programs; fosters a spirit of team work, continuous process improvement, wellness, health and safety; monitors productivity, quality standards and cost objectives to ensure performance standards are being met or exceeded.
The Director of Dubuque provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to establish the Dubuque Market as a thriving ImOn Communications Market. As the Director of Dubuque, you will play a lead role in bringing ImOn Business Services to the Dubuque market and growing the business through supporting and advising your local team and working with corporate and other market resources. You will work with the VP/GM of Business in developing and driving the strategy to acquire, retain, and grow business customers in the Dubuque market. You are the market champion. You will work with a matrix of teams in and out of market to support local outreach to city and state government, utilities, businesses, and organizations.
The Director of Dubuque has P/L responsibility for the Dubuque market and provides general oversight of our commercial revenue development, sales pipeline, product management, customer installation and service and marketing and brand awareness activities. This position establishes and ensures that the company has the operational controls, administrative, reporting procedures, and the people systems in place to effectively grow the division and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives and culture of ImOn.
Since our go-to-market strategy is grassroots focused and dependent on joint programs and events with local partners, your role will be visible in the Dubuque community. The role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, strategic perspective on the business, leadership in a highly matrixed organization, and the ability to identify, build and cultivate working partnerships
Essential Company Required Job Responsibilities
- Work Direction: Plans, coordinates, assigns, and oversees work of direct reports. Sets production goals ensuring that best safety practices are followed.
- Accountability of Employees: Performs detailed job checks to assure company standards are met. Manages employee performance and accountability.
- Employee Feedback: Completes employee performance appraisals, rewards employees, and administers conflict resolution and corrective discipline up to and including termination if needed. Coaches and conducts weekly one on one session with each employee.
- Recruiting/Retention: Interviews, hires and assists with on boarding process of new hires into functional area. Promotes and manages an efficient, professional atmosphere while maximizing profitability and retention of employees.
- Training: Trains employees on job functions, task procedures, work standards and proper safety procedures.
- Employee Development: Motivates staff, promotes continuous improvement, and establishes individual S.M.A.R.T goals in accordance with departmental/ team goals.
- Financial: Authorizes bi-weekly payroll and time-off requests of staff. Assists in annual budgeting for the department.
- Customer Care: Shows exemplary service to customers, corporate leadership, peer supervisors and staff. Instills a professional, customer service driven attitude among the team. Addresses complaints and efficiently resolves issues with customers and staff.
- Communication: Conducts departmental meetings, including preparation of meeting agendas, to discuss operational issues, concerns and company wide information.

Essential Job Responsibilities for Primary Functional Area of Accountability
- Develop and implement the ImOn brand awareness strategy in Dubuque Market.
- Develop and implement Dubuque Market business development strategy.
- Conduct market research in order to provide insight and analysis about the Dubuque market.
- Drive the Dubuque market to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
- Manage Dubuque Market P/L. Develop the annual budget for the Dubuque Market.
- Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for specific division.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure including systems, processes, and personnel, to accommodate the growth of the Dubuque market.
- Promote continuous improvement.
- Manage the sales through installation process for the Dubuque Market.
- Ensure that employees are trained in job functions, task procedures, work standards and proper safety procedures.
- Provide day-to-day leadership that reflects the ImOn mission and core values.
- Drive and measure effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the division.
- Build and develop a high performance team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team not currently in place.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment where team members can become wildly successful. Provide mentoring, coaching and support of team.

- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction and Outside Plant, Customer Service, Product Marketing, PR, and other teams in order to build and sustain a healthy local business.
- Represent the firm with clients and business partners.
- Support key day-to-day working relationships with the local government, University of Iowa, key businesses and organizations with Public Affairs, Local Partner Manager and Community Impact Manager.
- Be the face of ImOn Communications to local press, elected, influencers and business leaders in your market.

Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
- MBA, JD or equivalent qualification with emphasis on business development strategy.
- Experience working with or leading cross-functional teams and stakeholders in developing and executing strategies to deliver business results.
- Strong in-market local relationships with city and community leaders.
- Global mindset and ability to think across disciplines, industries, cultures and scenarios.
- Experience managing P/L and developing budgets.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills; strong public speaking capabilities.
- A conscientious team player.
- A high level of professionalism while remaining positive and embracing change.
