Education Specialist
Education Specialist – Holston River SWCD
The Holston River Soil & Water Conservation District is seeking a full-time Education Specialist. Primary Duties include: Coordinating and delivering the District's Youth Conservation Education programs - K-12 classroom programs, Youth Conservation Camp, Envirothon, Poster Contest, Forestry Camp, Educational Scholarship and Agricultural Awareness Day. Develop and implement environmental education programs for Washington County Teachers during teacher workshops or in-services. Takes the lead role in organizing District farm tours including but not limited to 6th Grade Farm Field Day. Participate in the development and presentation of talks and demonstrations for civic groups, adult organizations, etc. for the purpose of promoting SWCD programs and exploring additional opportunities, including grants, to enhance environmental education program. This position requires strong organization and communication skills. Candidate must be self-motivated.
A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Agriculture, Conservation, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management or a related degree of study and/or equivalent experience is preferred.
