JOB SUMMARY:
- Delivers appropriate radiation per treatment planning and collaborates with other healthcare staff. Notifies Physician and/or RN of adverse effects/reactions.
- Records and verifies radiation treatment. Assures radiation protection and safety standards.
- Positions patients and selects anatomic/technical parameters per physician order.
- Assumes responsibility for the proper use of assigned equipment and applies troubleshooting skills and takes appropriate action as necessary.
- Performs basic photon/electron calculations.
- Constructs patient shielding per treatment plan.
- Collaborates with other healthcare personnel and team members for radiation care.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: American Reg of Rad Techs (ARRT)
ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- ARRT Registered Technologist Radiation
- Therapist license in the state of Indiana in good standing.
- BLS Healthcare Provider.
ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
- Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
