Business Support Generalist
Goochland Powhatan Community Services (GPCS), a Community Services Board outside of Richmond, Virginia, provides services to individuals within Goochland and Powhatan Counties that have mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. GPCS is currently seeking a full time Business Support Generalist – Payroll to support the agency's administrative operations. Minimum salary for this position is $34,738 and will be based on experience and qualifications
Job Summary:
Business Support Generalist-Payroll is responsible for performing the full semi-monthly payroll process including data entry, maintenance, report generation, positing, and processing. This candidate needs to be able to work under set deadlines, understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and excel at multi-tasking.
Essential Functions:
• Process semi-monthly payroll for 100 employees.
• Enter and process all payroll related activities, i.e. garnishments, pay increases, benefit contribution changes, changes to taxes, and VRS deductions.
• Maintain all employee payroll and benefit records; ensure employee changes are entered accurately and timely.
• Ensure payroll records are thorough and maintained in accordance with all applicable requirements and laws.
• Process all tax reporting related to payroll including W-2 generation and distribution and all other payroll and benefits reports.
• Coordinate employee benefits enrollment activities.
• Communicate with insurance company regarding employee needs and questions.
• Respond to inquiries from employees and management pertaining to employee pay and benefits.
• Manage ACA compliance forms as required by law
• Maintain retiree insurance including collection of payment, record maintenance, and communication with retirees about changes and required notices.
• Allocate all agency funds collected and transmit to the County Treasurer
• Provide additional administrative support to Accounts Payable and Human Resources.
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of payroll/benefits.
• Knowledge of state and federal wage/tax laws and overtime requirements.
• Fluent experience with payroll processing systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and organize.
• High School or equivalent, with significant experience
