JOB SUMMARY: |
|
Functions as the clinical support person in Occupational Health Services. Performs new employee and annual health screens by reviewing health history, laboratory test results, drug screening, immunizations, health screenings, tuberculin skin tests, respiratory fit test and other screening according to established protocols under the direction of the Project Manager. Conducts blood borne pathogen exposure follow up per OHS protocol under the supervision of the Project Manager, to ensure employee safety. Supports assessment of health hazards in the workplace, including surveillance. Assists with program development as requested, including flu vaccine campaign. Provides the day to day coverage of the clinical aspects of the Occupational Health program as scheduled. Collaborates and coordinates communication with Worker’s Compensation department. Supervised by Employee Health Solutions Project Manager.

Provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. Practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and will adhere to established policies, procedures and practice guidelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: |
- Performs new-hired employee and annual health assessments.
- Provides First Aid to employees evaluates employee health status and determines eligibility to return to work.
- Collaborates and provides information to Worker’s Compensation department pertaining to an on the job injury to ensure proper adherence to Worker’s Compensation regulations which require employees to choose a Physician from DeKalb Medical’s panel of Worker’s Compensation Providers.
- Communicates information with appropriate areas.
- Provides guidance to employees regarding illnesses and injury prevention.
- Provides Monthly or Quarterly reports as needed, including statistical and trend analysis.
- Ensures proper documentation in EHS of every encounter.
- Review and recommends updates to Occupational policies and procedures in collaboration with Physician Advisor.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement teams and activities.
- Participates in supporting the organization’s vision, mission and values and adheres to DeKalb Medical Standards of Behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of DeKalb Medical.
