Job Summary: An Illinois based Injury Law Firm is seeking an Attorney with 5+ years’ experience handling Illinois Workers’ Compensation claims on behalf of injured workers. The primary focus of this role is helping clients navigate the complex legal process of obtaining compensation and benefits for work-related injuries or illnesses, for maximum value.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Meet with clients to discuss their work-related injuries or illnesses
  • Assess the circumstances surrounding the injury and gather relevant information
  • Conduct legal research to build a strong case on behalf of the client
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is collected and submitted within legal deadlines
  • Negotiate with insurance companies or employers to reach fair settlements 
  • Prepare and present a compelling case on behalf of the client
  • Represent clients in hearings or court proceedings if disputes arise
  • Advocate for clients’ rights to medical treatment, disability benefits, and rehabilitation services
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations.
  • Inform clients to any updates regarding their case
  • Ensure compliance with applicable workers’ compensation laws and regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Efficiently manage a heavy caseload, ensuring timely updates and actions on each case.
  • Previous WC claimant experience
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Adaptability and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally effectively, especially with ordinary laymen

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • License to practice law in the state of Illinois required, favored if also licensed in Missouri

Office Setting

Choice of working in office full time, hybrid, or remotely after a period of orientation.
