Vice President for Administration and Finance

Location: On-Campus | Hudson, New York

The Opportunity

Columbia-Greene Community College seeks an experienced and visionary Vice President for Administration and Finance. Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Administration and Finance is responsible for all administrative aspects of the College’s financial affairs and oversees the Business Office (accounting, payroll, purchasing); Buildings and Grounds; Bursar; Columbia-Greene Community College Association (athletics, bookstore, day care, food service, student activities); Human Resources; and Security and Safety.

The ideal candidate must be a proven high achiever, innovative thinker, and motivational leader committed to finding creative approaches for funding and addressing campus needs to support the mission of the College, advance the strategic plan, and ensure student success. The Vice President for Administration and Finance also will possess experience and interest in working collaboratively as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and will be responsive to emerging issues, trends, and community needs.

Located in New York’s Hudson River Valley, Columbia-Greene sits in one of the Northeast’s most scenic and historic areas 30 miles south of Albany and 110 miles north of New York City. Classified as a “rural” institution, the College serves two Counties – Columbia and Greene – covering a geographic area the size of Rhode Island. The nearby towns of Catskill and Hudson flourish with the arts, great restaurants, eclectic shops, and recreational resources.

Columbia-Greene enrolls approximately 1,500 full- and part-time students and boasts about its learning and working environment often referred to as “a family”. Moreover, WalletHub recently ranked Columbia-Greene as the top community college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Nearly one-third of the College’s budget comes from the two County sponsors, but a long-term decline in state support, combined with changing demographics, necessitate careful fiscal management.
