Application Developer
Collective Data is seeking a skilled Application Developer with a strong desire to learn our proprietary language. In this role, you will serve in a project management role to handle deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, and coding. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and other resource constraints. You will be challenged and provided a tremendous opportunity for growth in a customer-facing, fast-paced, agile environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish an understanding of client user needs to configure imports, build reports, and security profiles via Collective Data’s proprietary editors to meet requirements
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission-critical software source code using modern software development languages and tools
- Manage technical discussions with the client and/or third-party IT teams
- Carefully document requested features, scope and requirements for each project
- Write end-user and technical documentation
- Provide client support and technical issue resolution via e-mail, phone, and other electronic mediums
- Support creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development, and testing
- Develop maintainable code that matches the specification
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in object-oriented programming
- Confidence in working alongside and communicating with clients
- A solid understanding of software development process fundamentals
- A strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques
- Familiarity with basic web technologies including HTML, CSS, and XML
- Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git)
- Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint)
- Familiarity and experience with various computer languages and technologies
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, determine the priority of assignments, and maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations
- Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls, and other electronic communications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
Education and/or Experience:
Would prefer the candidate have a degree in Computer Science / MIS, related field or equivalent experience. No H1-B Visa Sponsorship is available for this position.
