The City of Wewahitchka is currently accepting applications for a Finance Director for responsible, professional financial and accounting work. Knowledge of varied govt accounting & related activities requiring broad financial knowledge & a high degree of accuracy in work necessary. Quick Books (utilizing classes), & Microsoft Office a definite plus. Ability needed to prioritize, communicate effectively and organize all aspects of the position.
Minimum qualifications include a degree in accounting or minimum 5 years equivalent business experience in finance/accounting. Must be able to furnish references & previous job experience. Previous employers/references will be contacted. Must be able to appropriately operate 10-key calculator for data input & keyboard/type at 40-60 words per minute. Position requires working closely with City Manager, City Clerk & Commissioners on all aspects of the position. Work involves responsibility for coordination of department planning, government budgeting & state uniform accounting/financial systems. Work also includes recording of all City revenues & lawful disbursement of City funds as well as purchasing, receiving, capital assets & inventory control processes & procedures. Responsible for safeguarding public funds & City financial condition. Responsible for interacting with CPAs annual audit. A more detailed list of duties available with the application package.
