TELECOMMUNICATOR
The City of Madison is seeking a full time public safety telecommunicator.
The position is responsible for handling 9-1-1 emergency calls, dispatching of police and fire services, monitoring of alarms and video cameras, and monitoring of detainees in jail cells at the facility.
This is a 24/7/365 position, so the selected candidate must be able to work midnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Candidates who apply should be capable of working within complex computer-aided dispatching systems, able to type at least 40 wpm, able to hear and comprehend fast paced communications, able to multi-task, and able to maintain professionalism and composure in high stress situations. 9-1-1 certified telecommunicators are preferred, but not required to apply.
Starting pay $20.42 per hour, plus benefits.
