The City of Edwardsville (population of 25,000 and the County seat for Madison County) is seeking Candidates who possess strong leadership, economic development, financial management, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. This position became available due to a retirement. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, creative, flexible and adaptable professional who can effectively address the City and community needs and who has the ability to work in partnership with the Mayor and Council to professionally represent the City in a variety of economic development, intergovernmental, regional and community settings. Vision and ability to find successful strategies to achieve the City’s long-range goals is a strong expectation. The City seeks a professional City Administrator as a partner in ensuring the continued high quality of life that the community now enjoys and to provide the appropriate leadership required to position and sustain Edwardsville for the foreseeable future.
Initial salary expectations for the position is $120,000 +/- negotiable, depending upon qualifications and experience. Upon appointment by the Mayor and approval by City Council, residency within the City limits of Edwardsville is required.
