The Belleville Police Department of Belleville, Illinois is now taking applications for full-time
Probationary Police Officers.
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY/QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
- Submit completed application by the mandated deadline
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States at the time of appointment
- Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment
- Must possess an Illinois driver's license within 15 months from the date of hire if licensed outside of Illinois
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain possession of Illinois Firearms Owner Identification (FOID) card
- Be physically fit and can pass a physical ability test
- Pass a written, psychological and medical exam
- Pass a police department background check
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to help and serve others
- Have and show maturity, responsibility and respect
- Have the ability to read, write and articulate with high efficiency
- Must be competent in the use of computers and software applications
- Accept that the job may require physical confrontations
- Must be able to use deadly force in accordance with debarment policy
- Must be able and willing to respond to all calls for service.
- Must be able to document and complete a variety of police reports and forms with proficiency
