QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in English or related discipline from an accredited college or university with 18 graduate semester hours in English required. Increasingly responsible experience in an academic field; experience teaching at a community college preferred. Experience with distance learning courses preferred. Teaches 15-22 contact hours of English courses in a classroom or distance learning setting. Works closely with English instructors on both the Caldwell campus and the Watauga campus. Prepares objectives and syllabi for courses taught. Advises and meets with students, maintaining office/conference hours according to institutional policy. Attends departmental meetings, college activities and cultural events. Recommends textbooks, supplies and equipment to area coordinator.
