Reclamation Plant Supervisor
Burlington County owns and operates a Resource Recovery Complex in Florence and Mansfield Townships, New Jersey. The Complex is the site of all solid waste processing and disposal activities undertaken by the County pursuant to directives of the New Jersey Solid Waste Management Act. Solid waste from all of the County's forty municipalities is accepted at this facility.
At present, the Complex includes: a state-of-the-art landfill, on-site transfer station, convenience center, leachate treatment plant, potable water storage and treatment facility, landfill gas collection/conveyance and treatment facilities, Class B recycling facility for bulky waste materials, household and conditionally exempt small quantity generator hazardous waste facility, a research and demonstration greenhouse operated by Rutgers University, a biosolids composting facility and a 7.125 MW landfill gas to energy facility.
Job Description
The Burlington County Department of Solid Waste has an immediate full-time opening for a Reclamation Plant Supervisor. Candidates should possess knowledge of practices and procedures involved in landfilling solid waste as well as the operation and maintenance of equipment/machinery used in processing varied materials. Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience with the operation, maintenance and repair of industrial type mechanical equipment/machinery, skill in troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems and components, electrical systems with components such as switches, relays, voltage regulators, generators, motors and pumps, ability to read and use technical manuals, diagrams, schematics, ability to diagnose malfunctions and use a variety of testing/repairing equipment. Candidates should have the ability to provide instruction, train, supervise, assist and lead assigned employees.
Requirements
High School/Vocational School Diploma or equivalency certificate and a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors. Candidates must reside in Burlington County.
