Water Treatment Plant Operator

HELP WANTED - The City of Troy is accepting applications for a Water Treatment Plant Operator. The eligible applicant will be required to work 5 days (40 hours) per week between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with weekends being a 4-man rotation and overtime being a possibility. The applicant will perform water/waste water treatment operations and maintenance tasks at the Water Treatment/Waste Water Plant. Duties include performing plant operations within regulatory guidelines, monitors/ensure production of potable water to maintain adequate water storage levels; maintains equipment/ground, performs preventative maintenance. Qualifications: Knowledge and comprehension of water treatment operations and standards; ability to operate plant equipment and tools; ability to perform water testing procedures; ability to perform adjustments, maintenance and repairs on plant facilities and equipment. Must be able to operate PC, SCADA, pickup truck, various hand tools, riding mower and string trimmer. High School diploma or equivalent and additional training. Two years related work experience is required. Hold current Class B Illinois Public Supply Operators certification and a Class 4 Waste Water Operator certification.
