Surgical Services Director
Assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all administrative and operational functions regarding the safe provision of patient care for his/her department. Ensures that all patient care provided meets regulatory, professional, and specialty standards/requirements. Responsible for assuring that all staff is competent to accomplish the assigned duties. Holds fiscal accountability for department budget.
Must possess the managerial and leadership capabilities to promote professional autonomy and growth among all staff and to provide an environment for medical and nursing collaboration for provision of efficient and effective patient care. Participates in other multidisciplinary teams to achieve and promote the Hospital’s mission and goals.
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN or actively pursuing, MSN preferred.
Certification/Licensure: Current licensure with the State of Illinois. BLS required. ACLS certification required. PALS certification required.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years clinical experience required; management experience preferred.
