RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER
Job Description
Provides respiratory care services: safe, skillful, accurate and in an efficient manner, age-appropriate and population specific to patients of all ages under the direction of a physician, guided by department guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols.
Requirements
¨ Education Level: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
¨ Certification/Licensure:
Current credentials with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC):
Certification required, Registry preferred
Current State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner License required
Adult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required (Available upon employment)
ACLS/PALS certification preferred.
¨ Experience Requirements: Minimum of one to two years clinical experience as a student therapist.
MLT or MT - Full-time - Afternoon Shift
Job Description
Performs laboratory tests in hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, special chemistry, transfusion service, and serology per policy and procedure. Performs calibrations and interprets testing and QC patterns.
Requirements
¨ Education Level:
Associate Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
¨ Certification/Licensure:
MLT(ASCP) preferred or eligible for testing: upon hiring have one year to pass a certification agency. (ASCP, AAB, AMT).
Experience Requirements:
Minimum one year hospital laboratory experience preferred.
