Requirements
Education Level: High school graduate or equivalent required.
 
Certification/Licensure: RDCS Preferred
 
Experience Requirements: : Experience in Cardiology and 1 - 3 years experience as an Echocardiography Sonographer required.
Current enrollment in or graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) preferred
Adult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment).
Typing skills and general computer knowledge required.
Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) preferred.
 
Job Description
Responsible for performing quality cardiology diagnostic testing under the direction of a physician. May engage in all departmental activities to provide safe and effective delivery of patient diagnostic testing within the parameters guided by the American Society of Echocardiography and American College of Cardiology. Department activities include but are not limited to echocardiography; stress testing; holter monitors; electrocardiography (EKG); scheduling patients; limited transcribing/typing, faxing, charting and filing reports
