Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: High school graduate or equivalent required. Medical terminology course or background required. Graduate of a medical assistant program preferred. Will train if necessary. Certification preferred or willingness to become certified.
Technical Skills: Must be able to complete computer work and document activities in the patient appointment/tracking software.
Experience Requirements: Experience in a medical setting. Prior experience as a medical assistant is preferred.
Other Requirements: Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary.

The Medical Assistant performs various clinical and administrative tasks. Clinical duties are performed under the supervision of the provider and may include, but not limited to, obtaining and recording vital signs, preparing treatment rooms, obtaining medical histories, assisting medical providers with procedures and updating the medical record to ensure accurate up to date information. Other clinical duties may include drawing blood and administering vaccinations as directed by the physician or mid-level provider. Administrative tasks include scheduling appointments, data entry and obtaining routine health maintenance data to support the quality measure programs.
