Ready to share your association experience and collaborate to create educational opportunities for others? APWA is searching for a professional that plays an essential liaison role between our volunteer technical experts and the creation of education opportunities within public works.
We are looking for an exceptional communicator who can build positive relationships with association members while keeping committees and task forces moving forward on established goals and strategic objectives. This position is a key resource in facilitating communication between members, establishing agenda items, defining deliverables and tracking action items.
This position is the primary staff liaison to five Technical Committees focused on specific areas of public works; identifies educational opportunities and business alliances in each of the technical areas assigned; writes and/or coordinates public works articles for newsletters and other APWA publications to inform and educate members and others on current public works topics.
A minimum of a BA/BS degree in related fields of public administration, association management, adult education or engineering and a combination of five years’ experience in support of delivering educational and or training products orwork experience (public or private sector) in 3 or more public works areas of engineering, transportation, planning, utilities, design, public works administration, facilities, fleet, water resource or solid waste management preferred. Association experience is high desirable. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detailed oriented, strong organizational and computer skills using Office 2010 or higher. Some light travel may be required.
